80’s Movies I Have Not Seen
The Breakfast Club
I have not seen these 80’s movies. It’s not something I am ashamed of or embarrassed to share with you. My wife loves to tell people this little fact about my past. Usually, she loves to tell this to other people who have seen all these movies. because one thing I have learned over the years, either you have seen all of these movies, or you have seen none of them.
I do remember these movies when they came out, I just chose to do other things instead of watching these movies. I can’t recall what I was doing, I just know it didn’t involve seeing these movies.
I am sure they are fine movies. They have some fantastic actors in them. However, I have no intention of seeing them anytime soon. Recently, a friend was forced two watch Footloose twice in one night. I want to thank that soldier for taking one for the team.
Today we kick off our relay in Carmel, Indiana. I am volunteering my time as the event photographer. If you want to see the photos we take this weekend, check out the event Facebook page. We’ll be posting updates all weekend long. This is a really big deal and a great event to be involved with. If you can make a small contribution to my donation page, I would really appreciate it.
Here is the link to my page.
I will also be posting stuff here all weekend.
Come out to Carmel High School and join us.
Our friends at INDY School on Wheels ( Twitter Link)are involved in a one day contest to raise money for the Indianapolis chapter. My friend Alex Keys is leading the effort to raise money to help provide support for the homeless children in Indianapolis. He tells me that on any one night there are over 3000 homeless children in Indianapolis.
This was the group that we tried to raise money for at Indianapolis 500 Community Day. We came in second place.
If you can help, please go to the School on Wheels “Twive and Receive” page and donate. Twive and Receive is an organization that is helping non-profits in different cities raise money for their charity. Each charity only has 24 hours to raise funds. Today, Thursday June 14th, 2012, is the only day that you can donate to the Indy School on Wheels group.
I am still jazzed about the presentation I saw at work yesterday by the blind man who climbed up a mountain. They showed a video of him shooting the rapids in a kayak. He was being guided through a wireless headset from a guy rafting behind him. The headset quit and the blind guy couldn’t hear the directions on which way to paddle. PLAN B – the spotter shot up and started yelling the directions from about ten feet behind. Unbelievable!
It changed my outlook on the problems that we face every day.
If a blind guy can scale a mountain, most of our problems can be overcome as well.
I’ll be writing more about this shortly.
Am I the only one glad that Friday is finally here?
I enjoy my job, but this is one week that I am happy to have completed. Just a lot of project coming together at one time. Nothing difficult individually, just a lot of stuff at once. Hopefully next week will be easier.
Do you have big plans this weekend? We are planning on hitting Conner Prairie and the grandparents are coming down to participate in grandparents day at The Fox’s school. If we are lucky, he will not rip off his shirt and start singing that he’s sexy and he knows it. If it does happen, it will be at school on grandparents day. Why? Because that is just how lucky we are.
I hope you have a great day and thanks for stopping by an reading this. One day, I will post the video of The Fox singing and dancing to Sexy and I Know It. It is one of the video moments you want to wait to show him when he gets to be a teenager.
If you have kids, make sure you spend time with them. Stuff is nice, but they just want quality time with you. Not with you and you phone, but with you.
Have a great weekend.
Wow, the year is almost half over. It is flying by.
Not sure if it’s something about getting older or what. When I was a kid, time was irrelevant. Just play and keep going. I wonder if dogs have any sense of time.
Cheers to a great rest of the year.
Blah, one am in the morning and I can’t sleep
And I have to work tomorrow.
It is going to be a fun day.
